Video Surveillance

video surveillanceThe sole purpose of video surveillance is to identify people or circumstances, present or past, using a combination of cameras, communications methodologies, and recording equipment.

While generally thought of in the context of criminal activity, many other uses for surveillance video do exist: deterrence, traffic patterns, access and construction monitoring to name just a few.

Each installation is very different: levels of light, distances and angles, movement, sound, as well as subjects of interest (people, places or things). One project may require facial recognition in near pitch darkness; others must identify license plates in a parking lot. Overhead cameras can detect cash register errors – intentional or otherwise.

If the subject of surveillance cannot be clearly identified after an event has occurred, the time and capital expended in mounting surveillance has been lost. This unfortunate result is experienced daily through the lack of thoughtful foresight and the inadequate selection of equipment for the job. How often do we see grainy or blurred video in the press, from which a positive identification is expected to be made?

As a surveillance professional, the most frequently question asked of us is: “do you have a solution that will cover all my needs?” There is no magical answer, and there is no “one-system-fits-all”. We will, however, perform a needs assessment, present multiple solutions, and pinpoint the solution that best addresses our client’s current and future needs.

We install only equipment from top manufacturers, including AXIS, Toshiba, Panasonic and Sony, ensuring that all projects have the integrity to perform as needed, with reliable and quality results every time.
